You all did it! You made it through a week of school- a week of coaching, encouraging, cheerleading, driving, organizing, socializing- phew! It’s friday! This weekend, exhale. Make some time for yourself- the caregiver:
Read a magazine.
Take a bubble bath.
Take a hike.
Go for a bike ride.
Garden.
Build something- make a craft, if that’s your thing.
Visit a museum.
Go out to dinner with close friends, leave the kids home.
Go “yard sale-ing” with a good friend.
Go to a local festival/ farmer’s market, etc.
Think about where you draw your energy- are you an introvert or extrovert? If you feel re-energized after some alone time, use a solitude activity to recharge your batteries. Feel like you have more energy after being with a big group, include family and friends in your relaxation activities, or chose activities that will naturally have you engaging with people. Take time for yourself, so you are ready to go again come Monday.
Happy Relaxation!
